7 - years old and up

 

 

 

April, 2008 Investigating our Watershed. Water, Vernal pools.  

 

April 1, 08. 10:00 am - 12:00 pm 2 hr program. 15 participants, 

I think a great way to start off Spring is by making a Rain Stick and Games. Our adventurers will make a tradional Rain Stick out of materials found in thier environment, and like people of other cultures, imitate the sound of rain. The Rain Stick is a tubular rattle, a sound producing instrument that belonged to the earliest of cultures. Throughout time, the Rain Stick has been used by many diverse cultures in various ways. It has served as ceremonial purposes and has been made and played by childeren throughout the world, it has cultural meaning as a traditional instrument asscoiated with the onset of rain. bring water - snack&lunch.

 

April , 08 Stream sence. 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. 3 hr program. 15 participants, 

Our adventurers will be headed down to the Pond / Stream to use thier sences. As we explore the stream and surrounding area we will observe all that is going on, learn that there is more going on than meets the eye. Identify different aquatic animals and plants and maybe even a stream boat race, we make our own small streamboats. bring ID books, magnifying glass, bring water - snack&lunch.

 

April , 08 Fishing. 10:00 am - 2:00 pm 4 hr program, 15 participants, 

Our avdenturers will be introdced to the TMO/MA. Angler Education Program, we will learn the basics of fishing, Biology and had habitat, fishing gear, and sucessful fishing habbits, safety, and a respect for the fish and it's environment.We will learn about casting, tying knots, hook safety, baits, fish habitat / environment. bring water - snack&lunch. bring water - snack&lunch, ID books, magnifying glass if you have them. We will supply all Fishing gear and materials, bring yours if you have it and would like to use it.

May, 2008 Spring hike, Climbing, Exploring & Identifying

Rock climbers must be 9 years old

 

May , 08 9:00am - 3:00pm. Beginner Rock Climbing, 6 hr program. 10 participants, Must be 9+ years old for this activity. 

We meet at TMO Base Camp for 9:00 am then drive to the climb site 20 minutes away from Base Camp. Learn Knots Anchors, helmets and harnesses and climb. Great fun for everyone. all gear is supplied. bring water - snack&lunch.

 

May , 08 Hike and Outdoor skills / Matchless fire building. 10:00am - 2:00pm, 4 hr program. 15 participants, 

We will hike around the 500 acre Base camp, and see what the April showers have hepled to bring to life. It is the best time to identify plants and trees. Learn outdoor survival skills plus how to build a matchless fire. bring water - snack&lunch, ID books, magnifying glass if you have them. .

 

May , 08 9:00am - 3:00pm. Beginner Rock Climbing, 6 hr program. Must be 9 +years old for this activity. 10 participants

We will take to the water here at Base Camp and learn safety skills around the water and canoes. With our Personal Flotaion Devices (PFD) on we'll learn all the different strokes, and proper technique while paddling around our beautiful 60 acre wild & scenic Scout Pond, bring water - snack&lunch, ID books, magnifying glass if you have them. .

 

June , 08 Canoeing, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm 4 hr program. 20 participants,

Adventure Travel programs throughout
